Two-Click Reminder offers a simple solution to the often troublesome task of reminding people to download something, usually a free application. If you have a slow internet connection or are on a limited bandwidth, this tool could help save you from a lot of time and trouble. You can find the tool by searching "two-click reminder" in your search engine. It's a very simple program that you run from your computer, just like any other reminder/previous activity applications. It reminds you to download a certain software program by highlighting it in a small window and then clicking on the " Download" button.
Two-Click Remind should be very useful, but sometimes it causes problems for me. Sometimes I forget that it's even there, and then I have to start over again and it costs me a few seconds. Two-Click Reminder has an option to turn this feature off, which I also found very inconvenient - it's a very small thing to do, and one second it's free, and the next I have to press my mouse button three times. Luckily, there are some alternatives to Two-Click Reminder that will make it easier for you to ignore notifications for free and still keep track of everything that you need to do.
Some of these programs are built into Windows itself so that they don't conflict with Windows software like Two-Click Reminder. Some are available as freeware downloads, and most are available for both Windows and Mac OS X. There is one freeware application that I found that does a similar job as Two-Click Remind, and that is a tool called Pinboard reminder manager. It displays a list of websites every time you sign in to your Windows account, and you can either bookmark a site or permanently mark it so that it's available to search later. This software reminds you about things when it reminds you, but it doesn't actually use any software to record the information (that job is left to your software). The good thing about this application is that it's free, and you can find it right here on my blog if you want to download it.
